SUPER PHOENIX

If you’re hitting Phoenix for the Super Bowl this Sunday, here are our favorite places in town.

Grab a bite at Barrio Cafe (2814 N 16th St), the best Mexican food in the city. No rice and beans here, this is Mexico City-style cuisine at its finest. Or try Tarbell's (3213 E Camelback Rd), excellent new American, or Rancho Pinot Grill (6208 N Scottsdale Rd) in Scottsdale for good food, service, and a top wine list. After dinner, check out the local nightlife in Old Town Scottsdale – a compact area with plenty of bars and clubs.

For a little culture, head to the Heard Museum for Native American art & crafts or the Phoenix Art Museum for good all-around art. Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright's summer home, is also worth a visit.

In addition to the Super Bowl, the PGA Tour is in town at the FBR Open - a fantastic party and a lot of fun. And if you want to hit the greens, Phoenix is your place… just be sure to book your tee-time as soon as possible. The best courses are Camelback Golf Club, McCormick Ranch Golf Club, Troon, and WeKoPa.

And if golf isn’t your thing, hike Camelback or Piestawa Peak (formerly Squaw Peaks) for a great workout and gorgeous views of the valley. Fair warning ... these are steep hikes!
