Luxury is subjective. At Avalon Reef Club Isla Mujeres, just off the coast of Cancun, it’s a resort on its own island.
This quaint stretch of land is accessible by a wooden footbridge at the northernmost tip of Isla Mujeres. Surrounded by pristine Caribbean waters on all sides, rigid rock formations form private Jacuzzis and homes for many tropical fish, while shallow waters appease swimmers and snorkelers on the ajacent side of the hotel.
An eight floor tower houses standard rooms, while studios with more amenities line the back of the property. Opt for the all-inclusive meal and beverage plan, which includes tasty dishes at the Mayan/Mexican restaurant, snacks and drinks in the lobby and outside pool bars, overlooking the beach. After a nice meal, pass an afternoon away during a day trip scuba diving or snorkeling. With the sound of crashing waves just feet away, lying in one of the hammocks large enough for two will have you relaxed in no time, and yoga at 7:30 in the morning will have you ready for another day.
