How seriously does the Pizzinini family, the third-generation owners of Hotel & Spa Rosa Alpina in San Cassiano, Italy, take the essences of the Dolomites treatment? Enough to pluck arnica flowers by hand from mountain meadows in the surrounding Dolomites.
The spa in this charming family-run property (started by Daniela Steiner, wife of owner Paulo Pizzinini) uses ingredients from the surrounding nature and Dolomite peaks in its spa treatments, including milk baths, massages and mud wraps. And like the hotel, you’ll find old-fashioned comfort meets 21st century service.
Our favorite: a pampering bath and body massage with warm oil dipped linen pouches, containing freshly crushed natural pine needles.
