This month check out Alison Jackson’s first Los Angeles exhibition, Alison Jackson: Confidential at M+B Gallery in West Hollywood (Dec 15 – Jan 26).
The exhibition features Jackson's controversial photographs of celebrities in compromising positions that have astonished and shocked audiences worldwide.
There’s the Queen of England on the toilet, Brad Pitt shaving Angelina Jolie’s legs, a jailed Paris Hilton scrubbing a toilet bowl, and George Bush and Tony Blair chatting in a sauna. But hey, are these really celebrities? Here’s the skinny: Jackson creates photographic images using look-a-likes of celebrities and public figures to comment on our fixation with celebrity culture. It’s an exhibition of what we imagine might go on behind closed doors.
If you can’t make the exhibit, check out the book, Alison Jackson: Confidential (Taschen).
