CAMP IN STYLE

Reasons to love Spain:
1. The paella capital of the world.
2. Flamenco dancing.
3. Gaudi’s buildings.

Here’s one more reason to love Spain. You can stay in a yurt.

In the rugged countryside of southern Spain outside the small Andalucian village of Cortes de la Frontera, the Yurt Hotel is set in the middle of olive groves and unspoiled forest, with spectacular views of the Grazalema mountains.

Staying in one of the five yurts is the perfect way to enjoy the beauty of nature without forgoing luxury. Fall asleep lulled by the sound of goats' bells and crickets. Lounge in a hammock in the shade of a giant cork oak tree. Cool off with a dip in the pool or dine alfresco on locally-sourced organic food and plenty of wine under a pergola lit by Chinese lanterns. Once or twice a week they even screen films under the stars.

The camp runs on solar power and the yurts have electrical outlets as well as private bathrooms with hot showers and ecological loos.

And the local area has plenty to offer. Ride out into the countryside from the neighboring stables, visit ancient caves with paleolithic paintings, go on a birdwatching trip or mushroom walk, or take a tour of one of several sherry bodegas in Jerez.

You can’t help but feel the magic.
