Something cool to do the next time you’re in the air? Check out Delta Airlines’ Fly-In Movies Film Competition.
Five short film finalists were selected by programmers of the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival from thousands of entries. From now through April 12, if you’re on a Delta flight equipped with Delta on Demand, the airline’s personal, seatback in-flight entertainment system, you can screen all five short films for free and then rate them. Not on Delta, you can also view them online. The film rated highest by viewers will be featured in this year’s Short Film Program at the Tribeca Film Festival, taking place April 22 through May 3.
The five films in the competition – all moving, funny and powerful in their own way – embody a range of genres in the craft of storytelling from an 80’s spoof, to an awkward date, to the greenest movie of all time.
We say: a great way to support emerging filmmakers and indie film at 30,000 feet in the air.
