Escape the crowds of St. Tropez this summer, and instead head to the peaceful French countryside.
L’Oustau des Vanels is a charming restored 18th century Provencal farmhouse surrounded by cherry orchards with a private swimming pool, in the heart of the Luberon in the South of France.
The six-bedroom property, which sleeps twelve people, is situated in a hamlet close to the market town of Apt. The interior boasts terracotta floors, beamed ceilings and an open fireplace. Amenities include en suite bathrooms for each bedroom, a BBQ, WiFi, DVD player, cable television, fully equipped kitchen (including dishwasher) and maid service.
Outside, there is plenty of shade for outdoor dining, as well as ample space to lounge by the pool, enjoy the gardens, and play a game of boules. The large swimming pool is made of stone and has a “contre-courant” to swim against.
Want a break from the tranquility? Venture out to nearby villages such as Roussillon, Gordes and Bonnieux, the ochre cliffs of the “Colorado Provencal,” Mont Ventoux, Fontaine-de-Vaucluse, and Avignon. You won’t be bored with hiking, biking, rock climbing, horseback riding, tennis, hot air ballooning, and hang gliding a hop, skip and a jump away.
