As the temperature dips and the winter months draw near, we thought we would conjure up some images of warm breezes and blue skies to ease the pain of the impending snow and ice.
First up on our Caribbean hot list is the island of St. Barths, known as the playground of the rich and famous. With pristine beaches and a bevy of stylish accomodations, this island exudes class, style and sophistication. Cruise on a yacht and sip champagne during the day before returning to your own luxurious villa at Le Toiny on the Cote Sauvage region of the island. With 15 pastel-colored bungalows, the villas of Le Toiny, set high on a hilltop surrounded by lush vegetation, oversee the blue waters of the Caribbean. Or for more boutique style, try La Banane.
Dining on the island varies from traditional French to Creole to sushi. Try L'Esprit-Salines for French fusion with a menu that changes daily or Le Sapotillier in Gustavia for traditional French fare.
Travel to St. Barths can be a bit of a hike with a flight to St. Martin before you continue your journey on to the island, but whether arriving by air or ferry, it's well worth the trip.
