WILD IN DUBAI

Dubai had always been on my to-do list, so when I finally got the chance to visit I was beyond excited! The city itself is really nothing more than modern buildings with lots of sand.lots and lots of sand!

While touring through the city I started to feel as though I was just in another city with tall buildings and large shopping centers. It wasn't until I took a Desert Safari ride that I realized exactly where I was!

The tour operator at Lama Tours suggested I not eat a large lunch before the excursion. I took it to mean they would be feeding me on the drive. Boy, was I wrong! As I boarded my 4-wheel drive vehicle, I saw a gleam in the driver's eye. Hmm.why does he have such a look on his face? Well, I was about to find out. We proceeded to drive far into the desert. The sand was beautiful and the dunes were amazing. As far as the eye could see it was nothing but sand dunes. Wow! And then the "tour" began. At full speed my driver began to plow up the sides of the dunes and swerve down slopes. I felt like I was on the craziest ride you could find in an amusement park.only without warning. My stomach began to turn upside down and my screams were combined with laughter. What an experience.

Waiting for us at the end was an Arabic tent in the middle of the desert complete with belly dancers and Arabian cuisine. I finally felt like I was in another world. And what a world it was!
