END OF THE EARTH

If yesterday's ideas weren't enough, here are two more trips for adventurous-types:

End of the Earth: This year is one of the last times that Antarctica will be easily accessible to travelers. Within the next few years tour operators will begin limiting the number of ships and people visiting the continent, in an attempt to protect the fragile ecosystem of this vast wilderness. Book your trip now through White Desert, a luxury eco-camp, where you'll visit the Emperor Penguin colony of Ekstroem Shelf Ice (seen in March of the Penguins), then fly across the mighty peaks of one of the least explored regions in all of Antarctica to a high-tech tent camp where you'll ice climb, ski or kite-ski through miles of pure snow. The cold-blooded can even spend the night in an igloo.

Final Frontier: And if you really want to do something different and spending $200,000 or so is no object, reserve a seat on a Virgin Galactic space flight. Test flights are scheduled to begin in 2010, while full-fledged trips are set to launch in 2011.

Don't want to travel alone. Send this e-mail to a friend who also loves an adventure.
