KEEP IN TOUCH

Snail mailing paper postcards is so last century.

SodaSnap (yep, another damn app) turns photos from your phone into an electronic postcard that you can share with friends through email, Twitter, and Facebook. Take a picture from within the application or browse through your own photo library, select one or more pics, add a greeting and send it on its way. Your friends will receive an email postcard and a link to the photo's location on Google Maps.

HazelMail is another option that turns photos from your phone into real live postcards. Choose a pic, add a background and border, pick a font, write the message, et voila: an actual postcard is sent off to your friends and family. It costs a few bucks, but HazelMail has cost effective bundle rates. And it's Earth-friendly as cards are printed and mailed locally.

We say: so much more personal than a crap tourist shot of the Mekong Delta. And no more mad scramble to find a postbox.
