As the weather slowly begins to thaw, our thoughts turn to exploring new horizons. Today a quick trip to Nova Scotia to indulge in the great outdoors while satisfying our inner gourmet.

Check in to The Woodshire Inn, a restored 1800's home in Windsor, about 66 kilometers outside of Halifax. You'll be centrally located on the coast and in the heart of the food and wine region.

A great way to see the province is by water so plan to spend a day kayaking. Head to Lower Prospect and link up with Eco Outfitters for a guided adventure.

Spend day two visiting the many wineries and specialty food shops of the region. Pick up a few provisions from Foxhill Cheese House.

End your day with a culinary treat at the Tempest. Enjoy locally sourced and sustainable products from Chef Michael Howell, a local leader in the slow food movement.
